Default Installing oil pressure gauge

Okay, so my engine runs kinda rough and I was thinkin that may be an oil issue. maybe the pump is goin, maybe the filters clogged, idk. A friend gave me a mechanical oil pressure gauge and the tube and wiring to go with it, but no instructions. Now, Ive been everywhere I can think of, before you say "use the search" everything posted about oil pressure gauges is for turbo models, and I have a n/t. Now, like I said, I got the gauge, the hose and some wiring. Is there some stuff missing? Should I just invest in a new in box gauge?

Damn lol figures. Is that gonna be cheap and universal or should I just buy a new gauge package? I got what I have for free, so it wouldnt hurt my feelings much.

actually i think on a 420a you may not need an aftermarket one. You may be able to tap from the back of the block on a oil pressure switch. this is just from what i was reading. I havent done one on that motor. But i know you will need to buy a "T" and some fittings.

lol im wondering if it may be more profitable to just buy a new gauge kit with everything needed and INSTRUCTIONS to do so. Ive wired up sound systems, Ive swapped transmissions, done my rear disk conversion, all kinds of work. But Ive NEVER installed a single gauge. Time to start learning dont you think?

ive done gauges but never had the "mis"pleasure of doing a mechanical oil pressure. If you are going to buy a new guage then i would definetly get an electrical oil pressure gauge
