so jumping to the g16 what would be involved in a conversion to the g and what would be the hp difference, i understand that the hp will only be seen under boostbut what are the pro's and the cons . if you have done this why would you have done differently and were you happy w/ the overall out come
The only bad things people experience is when they cheap out. Don't get the damn turbo from eBay because its a knock off, and make sure you get the 34mm flapper.
There have been hundreds of these sold, and everyone has been satisfied. Mostly because they are straight from Mitsubishi, not a factory part.
The only thing involved in swaping to the 16g is removal of the T25, and putting the new one in its place. You will also need an install kit if you have a 2g, and that should come with it. Very simple. Just a few bolts...
I can't tell you how much power you will get from it... unless its a guess. The power you gain doesn't have to be from the boost itself, but the 16g flows much better. The T25 dies down in the higher RPMs and the 16g will take power all the way to the redline in a crisp fashion. You will also be moving a higher volume of air than the T25. So if you were using the T25 and hit fuel cut at say....17psi, you would have to turn it down to about 15 or 16 to avoid fuel cut with the 16g, because its more efficient and moving more air (hence requiring more fuel). Get it?
