MAFT
hey guys, I am wondering if I can get some info/opinions on anyone using a MAF translator. I actaully just heard about this and from what i understand you replace your stock MAS with a GM 3" version and use the MAFT as a piggyback to control it? a site said that it eliminates the need for a fuel controller such as the safc when putting on bigger injectors. can anyone who has one fill me in on exactly how it works/what is does? thanks
it is one of the best upgrades you can do for your car. the hp gain is unreal. you can also start venting your bov into the air with it.as for tunning, you just turn the dial to what size injectors that you have. you can use a data logger with it to check to se if you might want to turn it up or down so that you fine tune it. i use it and wish i would have got it alot sooner. how it works you will use a gm maf, instead of your stock mas. the translator plugs into your factory harness for your mas, then plugs into the translator box it then has control over your a/f mix.
you can throw out that stock mas and intake pipe, and just run the filter off the turbo or make a pipe to go from the turbo to were you want your filter. you will have onbe wire to tap but its real easy.

thanks for the reply! so is there any kind of danger in tuning the maft? i know with the safc you can do some serious damage if you arent careful and i want to get some bigger injectors so i can up the boost i just dont have the time to spend on learning to tune right now. also do you know of any good sites to read up on the maft? thanks
