Just put a motor in my 97 GS and now Its putting! I heard it run in the talon it came out of and it didnt putt! Any suggestions Im very frustrated I spent all weekend on it and it aint rite! Replaced the plugs and wires and still! and the check engine light is on aswell and it wasnt on before! My first thought was maybe My cat is clogged but I highly doubt that!

 

any thoughts guys??? Im thinkin maybe the coil is bad because I used my coil from my engine because the wire connection was different! Its gotta be something I swapped from my motor to the new engine because the Engine ran excellent in the Talon! I really need some help here I would love to be driving my car well I can drive it but It acts a fool! thanks guys~!

 

what code does the CEL come up as?

 

If all you changed was the coil pack, sounds like it has to be there. What about grounding? Do you have all the ground wires on tight and clean.

 

werd up, its able to do a key dance so hit that up and let us know whats going on. Just off the top of my head all I can think of is a bad sensor thats making it dog.

 

changed the coil now I finally Have my Car! I bought it needing valves replaced engine and Then the coil pack and now its fine! I do have one slight issue though! i replaced the tps because the one on the new engine was cracked! Now when I first start it and go when I get to the stop sign it stalls! but after driving it it goes away and will drive perfect any suggestions??? Im gonna try and raise the idle slightly maybe I didnt put it back in the same position it was in on the other engine! well thanks for the help guys!
