Is my AC compressor dead?
I recently tried to recharge my AC using the 134a refrigerant. I did everything as per the instructions, but the oil is not getting vacuumed into my car. What's the deal? Does this mean my compressor is shot?
Thanks
Thanks
That's all I can think of. If the compressor is dead, then you couldn't hear the clutch kick in and the motor bog for that split second.
Make sure the A/C button is pressed in and the temp **** turned all the way to the left (in the blue).

I didn't even use half of one can. I shook the can connected everything, turned on the AC to cold at full blast and nothing was absorbed from the can.
Silver, what do you mean?
I will try again and see what happens. I still have the can connected to the hose with the valve closed so I think I should get rid of the can soon before the valve opens by some freak accident and I get oil all over my interior. Lol
Thanks

was there anything in the system when you started?
maybe you have a bad pressure switch or something electronic causing it to not come on.
you can jump the wires in the plug on the low pressure switch and force it to come on.

you just unplug the low pressure switch thats in the line, usually in or near the dryer, and put a jumper wire in it & that should trigger the compressor to come on. ive had to do that on certain cars to get it to draw in enough refrigerant to get the sytem to start goin. some are odd like that, also try putting your can in a bucket of hot water while letting it go in, the stuff gets cold then wont leave the can. warm it up makes it evaporate and pressurize a littleand it goes into the lines then
