Default is my gauge cluster wrong?

Recently killing time on ebay browsing 95 eclipse, I saw one of those chrome bezel covers, for an a/t cluster, with a cutout between the speedo and tach for a gear indicator. Mine is a/t without that indicator. When I looked at the title and the odometer, they didnt match. Title says 147,xxx and the car says 106,xxx. So now Im wondering, not only did they swap out to show lesser miles, did they also switch it out to a standard cluster? And if so, could the wiring that wouldnt be plugged in now (gear indicator) possibly effect the other wiring in the dash, like interior lights and door ajar and diag port?
