is there any way to check and see if thats the problem or should i just replace it?

Jack the car up and see if there is any play in the suspension and look at the cv boots, see if they're ripped and leaking grease.

Well I checked, everything seems fine, any other possibilities? I also noticed today it made the sound while i was idling at a stop light..
