hey guys got a BIG problem whenever i get my engine around 2000 rpm it knocks . my friend who is a mechanic thinks its from the main bearings
now dont call me a dumbass but i did have very low oil levels and i added 2 quarts and it brought it back to normal and the noise got quieter i havent been driving it because i dont want to blow the engine
my friend told me it would be about 400 bucks to get the bearings replaced (that estimate includes labor the parts are only 60 bucks)
i got the chilton manual for my car and it says it may be low oil levelsi know now that the oil wasnt the problem because its full what else could be the problem any help would be appreciated

When was the last time the oil was changed?

 

ya it was before i bought it in december i dont know ill call the guy that i bought it from and check it out
