Default Rebuilding the head

I am rebuilding my head.Oil is leaking into the plugs.I replaced the valve cover gasket and the plug seals. What I am planning on doing is replacing everything while I am in there. The car is a 99 eclipse with a 2.0 non-turbo.What I need to know is what would be the best parts to re-place all of the stock stuff.

you dont need any special parts, just take your head to a machine shop and get a valve job etc, theyll clean it up for ya

Wouldn't this be a good time to change the timing belt and everything in the head since the head will already be worked on?

take it to a machine shop. if the valves are still good just get a valve job, they will tel you is they are resuable or not. if not replace em. there really isnt much else u need to do. u can do the timing belt while the head is off you might as well.

And now for a bit longer of a list to do while you're doing the head job. replace the water pump, the timing belt, all accessory belts, and your timing belt tensioner pulley. That should be the basics of what should be done since you're already that far into the engine.

yeah i learned the hard way on that. when i did my head, i changed the timing belt, accessory belts, water pump, but forgot to replace the trnsioner, and guess what happened. the tensioner went bad and caused it to jump time, costing me another 800 bucks!!!!
