REGULAR 10-40 TO SYNTHETIC???

i dont know much about synthetic. Is there just one level of synthetic? or is it like 10W-30 and such like that?

The problem with going from regular oil to synthetic is that synthetic is, for lack of better terms, more slippery. Good for engine... right?
If your engine is worn, problems may occur where you can experience synthetic oil leaking past the rings and into the combustion chamber, where regular oil will not do the same thing.

i've been told that is is not only ok but recommended to use synthetic oil HOWEVER once you go synthetic you can NOT go back to regular oil. or it will begin to tear ur engine up.

Synthetic is also good for horsepower. Synthetic has less friction than normal oil so your parts don't have to move as fast to produce the same power as with normal oil. Of course to get the full effect you need to change you engine,transmission and diffs to Synthetic. You will even get better gas milage (about 5 to 10%) because engine does not have to work hard.
