Well do that stuff and let me know what happens. We'll get it running. It may take a bit of frustration and troubleshooting but we'll get it. Biggest thing is cleaning the CRAP outta it. That's what you need to start with.

 

like i said, this is my first time starting it, the last thing that happend before i got it was a head gasket

Sag is right clean fuel needs to run thru that car. I had a 240SX sit for a few years in my Moms back yard and when I finally started it she sputtered bad and the oil was like sludge. I filled up with high octane plus injector cleaner. After I started I just popped her into 1st and drove slow for about 10-15 min only in 2 and 3 and she drove fine. I did eventually get a engine flush to clen that oil. Which BTW did not come clean until about 9000m 3rd oil change before it was that light brown color we all love.
So when U start it just ease of the clutch and ride around the block a few laps and U should be good!

 

Ok i just put in accel wires, ngk iridium plugs, optima red top battery, 130amp alternator and a breather filter on the side of the valve cover. I went to start it ( i was jumping it with another car just in case the battery was dead) And it wouldnt start but would turn over and stuff, then i looked at the breather filter and there was quite a bit of smoke comming out of it ( looked and smelled like burnt oil). I took the oil cap off and there was some smoke, it smelled awful. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does anyone think it could be his piston rings ? did u check your compression but i really think it could be your timing maybe your firing in you intake stroke while oil leakin threw your rings ?

 

took off the valve cover and there was a like a half circle shaped thing right near the oil cap, there were other ones like for something to sit in. like 2 half circles side by side. Get what im trying to say? anyway on the one by the oil cap, one side was bent down so i straightend it before i put it all back on with a new gasket. But now i have no spark ( SEE MY NEWEST THREAD ) [>:]
