this is just a dumb *** comment. I dont know why you people are so bias. I think its cuz your uneducated or something. But the K20a is a WAY better motor than a 420a. I highly doubt that it would be a simple swap. Nor would it be anything that id try because im sure there would be alot of metal work to be done just to get the mounts to fix. So id say no dont try it

 

Ive had a Civic with the K20a in it... the little hatch Si. That thing was a ****box. Probably the worst car imaginable. I bought it brand new... killed it in under 2500 miles. Though, it had less engine trouble than any 420a Id ever heard of (supporting TE, here). But that wouldnt even begin to make me want to put one in an Eclipse. Thats like... I dunno, Im hard pressed to come up with a decent metaphor for that kind of insanity.

 

The 420a motor is a good motor... If your only gonna use it as a Daily driver..

Ive seen some nasty looking hondas that have no power... But ive also seen some hondas that will pull away from alot of eclipses also... Any car/motor can be good if the right amount of money and time are spent on them..

 

dropping a K20 into an eclipse is a dumb idea. but the only reason being is that the cost of the motor, car and swap will cost probably more than an EVO.
Kaede, that was a seriosly dumb comment, the k20 is a VERY good powerplant base.
And Dusty, everybody in the world knows that Honda is one of the best car companies in the world b/c of their extremely well built cars... my guess is that either you didn't break in your engine correctly, ran the crap out of it, didn't take care of it or just had a lemon.

 

Problem with hondas is the same thing with DSM's.. People watch F&F and think there car can do 160 mph in 10 seconds...

If hondas and dsm's were treated like suv's then there would be more around that ran good..

 

Ok i admit it, it was a biased, stupid comment, but why, cuz im sick of hondas, whenever i start a talk about cars around here, honda is the first thing popping up in their minds, i just really think that if you hve a 420a'd eclipse, is way better, than k20'ing for reasons stated by the people after my post, im not a hater, and i wish i could just go one single day without someone saying honda is god.... apologizes for the previous statement
