Lifter tick will have a very steady rate of sound i believe is rpm dependant, meaning if you rev your engine the noise will be in closer intervals. Liftertick is not harmfull and will do no damage to anything, its just a very annoying sound. The only way to fix it that i know of is replace the oem lifters.

 

heavier oil helps w/lifter tick too ive heard, but it normally goes away when ur car warms up or at least mine does

 

Yea I was reading about something like that. It said something about switching my oil in the colder months. Right now, I have to make sure that's the problem. If it is, and it does no harm, then whatever I'll try a different oil. Right now I can't change my lifters so.
