what makes a strut bar bad? if it is not one bar. if it is two or three bars bolted together, it will do absolutely nothing.

So I can purchase a strut bar for $5 instead of a $100 strut bar and it would do the same thing? Or is there a difference?

the only real difference is in the quality of the product (material). Such as how long they will last. But as far as handiling goes i would suspect that they give about the same.

Just before I sold my 97 gs to a friend of mine I put one of those DC Sport carbon steel bars up front - $100 shipped on ebay, and rigged the rear up with an OBX strut bar and lower tie bar - $150 for both shipped. He has since put some rims on it and it does not budge around corners. I'll warn you that without some type of powered tool, that lower tie bar will probably **** you off more than anything. I had an impact wrench and it still took the better part of an hour to get the nuts off the bolts, get the bar positioned and put the nuts back on
