Timing
I am trying to replace the timing belts on a 92 Eclipse 1.8. Everything is taken apart to get the belt off, but it will not slip past the lower pulley. I have taken the two oil pan bolts hoping that would do it. If anyone has diagrams I would really appreciate it. I guess I have to take the lower pulley off. Already took the belt off and see no way of keeping it from spinning unless I put the B belt back on. Let me know.

Hey ss1cgc, I don't think you have to take off the lower pulley to take off either the main timing belt or the 'B' belt, you probably just have to loosen center bolt on B timing belt tensioner pulley. This pulley should be on an eccentric shaft that is turned to tighten belt for proper tension. Once bolt is removed you should be able to remove pulley and then the B belt. I could be wrong, but I will check my documents for the 1.8 engine and get back to you later.I had the timing belt replacement procedure for 1.8 on e-mail file but I deleted it, so let me look into it.
