Topline Rebuild Kit
Hey whats goin on people. i know i havent been on here to much, just lurkin around and readin up on some information. i finally go a six bolt block for my baby and i just had a couple of quick questions. i was wondering if whether i should go with the rebuild kit that topline has or go out and buy parts separately. i have looked at what the rebuild kit has and the only thing im sorta iffy on are the pistons and rods, i really want to invest in wiseco pistons and eagle rods but honestly i think doing that might be over kill. i read here some where here ill be alright to use stock internals. so i guess its a toss up at this point. i plan to get this project done during spring break (at least i hope that soon). any help and/or opinions are fully appreciated. sry for the long post and thnx in advance

RE: Topline Rebuild Kit
yea we really need to know what kinda HP you plan on running. I wouldnt want to be running anything more than 400 on the stock internals. And that would be ona good tune. But if your only looking for like 350 then id say stock is fine. How many miles are on the engine because a good rebuild would be a good idea since you have it out. I think you can get rebuild kits for labout $200-$300

RE: Topline Rebuild Kit
i dont really run anything higher than 350. i honestly didnt know there were other rebuild kits out there, as i only saw the one from topline from the sites that the engineer posted in his suspension thread. while the block i have is a six bolt, i believe that it is a n/a block so wouldnt that mean id have to switch out the internals anyway? i figure at the very least the topline kit would be stock enough. i have no idea

RE: Topline Rebuild Kit
One of the guys that I work with (used to bethe big cheese atWiseco) knows the owner of Topline. He pretty much put it this way, "it's a great product if you're planning on building your motor back to OE specs on a budget." It atleast meets OE standards. I've used the pistons, rings and oil pump on a couple of 420A builds that I've done for a couple of my customers. None of these builds were for forced inductions or high HP goals.

RE: Topline Rebuild Kit
Im thinking he should be fine with the topline kit since he doesnt seem to be planning to exceed anything over the OE capacity of the 4g63. I dont see a problem with going the topline route.
