97 Eclipse GST...no problems until today. Started out and could hardly get it into 2nd. It was a little sticky getting to third, then all is well for another 20 minutes until I got home. I pulled next to the driveway and went to back up...ouch. Nothing, no first, second, reverse(except for grinding there), etc. I managed to get it in the driveway but not into any gear at all. Once I stopped the engine I could move through all six gears effortlessly (12345, R). If I left it in gear and started the car it would try to creep forward as if the clutch was not in. Verrrrrrry depressing after reading some of the posts.

I went out about an hour later and woohoo it works. All the gears worked, both up and down during a short test drive. Why would it go bad, then get better? If it was broken it should stay broken. The fluids looked good and it is too dark to see so I can check for leaks tomorrow, but????
