Default what should i do or buy?

don't know much about mitsubishi eclipse but i'm trying to learn fast anyway i will be shopping for an elipse in a few weeks and i want to know what should i look for when doing my shopping i know there are 4 trims of eclipse i would love to get a gsx but its kind of hard to see one these days,i know that there is a rs , gs and gst. so far all i have seen are rs and gs,if i get the rs or gs what kind of modification can a do to the rs or gs since they don't have turbos. can a turbocharge the rs or gs safely without blowing the engine.what do you people think is the best way to go consideringa low budget.my goal isall around performance.any feedback will be of great help

Well that all depends on what kind of money you're wanting to spend. You can goto a car lot and have them find a gst or gsx if they know you're serious. Butbe really picky about doing that way. Or you can try Ebay. I'm not sure how the non-turbo motors are. They may or may not be able to handle the boost of a turbo. You can always fix up the nonturbos. They have plenty of aftermarket parts made for them. Everything From air intakes to cams to pulleys. They make em all.

your best bet is the GSX or the GST but it is possible to turbocharge a GS or RS. The only problem is you will need to replace some internals like piston rings and cams. Plus you will want to upgrade the oil pump and injectors, then you will need some type of engine managment system (that is if you want to do it right). It is even more involved than this and will cost more in the long run but it can be done if you want take your time. The path of least resistance is to buy a Mitsu that is already turbo from the factory the internals and computer are made for it. Get an Eclipse you wont regret it, brings lots of attention if done right!!!! Talk em down on a GSX or GSTat the dealership. Good Luck!!
