I need to know if i should buy this car, it's a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage DS (4 door). that's all i know about it, even though i went to look at it today. the body's in perfect condition, spotless, "gold" color. the inside is great too, and it seems to run fine.

this is going to be my "commute" car, and needs to be reliable, and comfortable. i need to know (IN ALL YOUR HONESTY, please don't stick up for it just because it's a mitsubishi)... is this a good, reliable car? I'm paying $4000 for it, and it's got 52,000 original miles.

Should i go for it? Let me know what to check for before paying for it

Oh, also important to me is what upgrades i can give to it. this coming from a guy who drives a 1980 cadillac with a supercharged 5.7Liter corvette engine in it, so i need speed. what 'bolt-on' upgrades can i give to this car to give a NOTICEABLE increase in acceleration? Without doing major engine work. no nitrous, this is a dailyl driver

That sounds like a good deal for that price if it is in as good condition as you say it is with only $4000.

 

I sold Mitsus for a few years and I have always found the Mirage to be a bulletproof car, if somewhat uninspiring...in terms of reliability, it certainly wont let you down if it has been taken care of.
