RE: what would cause this
somtime adjusting your BISS will fix it. but with saying that, that o-ring under the screw goes bad and needs to be replaced every so often...just something to check out. it might be letting in more air than it should throwing off the IAC reading.

Okay seriously this thread is a cluster ****.
To check for the life of the turbo, pull off the intake and see if there is any movement in the turbo compressor. Wiggle it side to side, and in and out. Its normal to have about a 1mm to each side.
Try to pin point where the sound is coming from too. If the turbo is toast, thats more than likely where its coming from.
That does also look like an IAC failure to me, either that or a really bad vac leak.
So get back to us on the turbo.

I dont see how the IAC could cause a sound like that though. I think your turbo may be at the end of its life. And as far as a/c goes, it would only whine if it was on wouldnt it?

RE: what would cause this
ok well the sound is coming from the intake area. so i will try to see if it is my ac compressure doing it i turned it on when i started it so that is y that might be the whine. i am gonna order a iac and a biss screw gasket l8r tonight so that will get rid of the other problems. as far as the turbo goes that is ok because i hvae a 16g on sitting in the box still waiting to be put it . i wanted to fix this problem before moding it.
