How much tread is left on the tires, what parts have been replaced recently and how long ago, did he do the bodywork himself, etc. Things like that. Of course, driving the car yourself will tell you a lot.

90k is not the exspected lifetime of that strong of a motor it sould be around 200k i have a 96 gst that has 141k on it and still runs like new good compresion no smoke the only issue i have has a problem with was replacing brake pads and a blinker switch. The car had good matinence. This is why i say for a 4g63 motor 90k is about half life of the motor. and for a basic rebuild 1200-1300 it will be like new.

I think that yeah DSMs in general have insanely long lives with proper maintenence. Especially with our breed, people whose cars are very important to them.

I wouldnt really base a cars reliability on an expected life span. That should be based on a car driven by someone with the intentions of getting to point a to point b. you have to bring in to play that the guy did no actual modifications on the cars performance most likely meaning he didnt know how. That would make me believe that he probably didnt properly maintain some things. To me i think its iffy.

Although I think that you make a good point, I don't think it applies to this specific car. Personally, I think it'll be a good buy. If he gets it, he'll have to let us know who won. :-p

proper motor maninace if done car will last that long now the fact he has docs on all he has done to it over the last 4 years only covers about half the life of the car understood but i push my car a few times a week and still no issues but keep damn good matinance. on thing i sugest when u go to look at the car check oil level, take a compression test, when doing test look at the plugs for oil or major carbon deposits, check all other fluids when checking the radiator fluid make sure there are no floaties or discoloration, check under teh car for oil leaks or dents to teh oil pan/undercariage " looked a many cars that were good looking on the outside but had been highcentered or ran over a curb". Do the most through check of all chanical parts basicly this will tell ya the story of the cars life.
