Is it worth the trouble?

Is it worth the trouble?
All right I've been debating this since I bought the car. I bought a '92 Eclipse (Not sure EXACTLY what model it was but it doesn't matter as hardly anything is original anyways). Now I'm trying to figure out whether I should take and rebuild the engine in it or if I should just find a new one. The ngine in it is the 4G63 out of a '94 eclipse the tranny is an auto out of a '96. The car used to be standard tranny converted now. The guy says the problem with the engine is merely a valve job. It was rebuilt in Oct. '03. It turns over but stops at a certain point says the father. Unfortunately I don;t have the car here right now to pull apart it's still in FL. But what do you guys think? New engine or rebuild this one to be a turbo monster?

The thing is this eclipse WAS a 5 speed and it shouldn't be hard to swap back to the 5 speed I wanted to stick w this one due to the fact that it's already got a full body kit AND the R33 taillight conversion. Not to mention all the spare interior parts I got with it. As well as the aftermarket sway bars w less than 1000 miles on them and the exhaust system w less than 100 miles on it.

If it looks like how you want it to end up then I'd do the engine work. If you would put the money into a body kit in the future then you may as well spend some on the engine now. How desprate are they to sell it to you? Would they take it to a mechanic for you and have them check it over and get their opinion on the car as a whole?

RE: Is it worth the trouble?
They sold it to me already. It only cost $300 for the car with the shot engine so I doubt they would have taken it to a mechanic to get it fixed before selling it to me. If they were gonna do that then I bet the kid would have kept it and kept going but he just didn't have the $ or the time to play with anymore. His parents live in a deed restricted community so they HAD to get it out or be fined cuz it wasn't registered. So for the front end being included (Usually would cost around $150 by itself before shipping) I think I did pretty good. I'm just trying to get opinions on whether I should stay N/A or go turbo or if I should go N/A and gradually after it's running go to a turbo setup or should I go for the gusto right off the bat and head for a 500 HP monster out of the garage? (K maybe 500 HP is a BIT of an exageration but you get the idea).

Good point. So what do you think of these rods or should I go with something beefier? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT Also what size injectors should I go for? I'm looking at 450cc injectors will that be enough for a turbo application or should I go bigger?
