I'm not sure if cold air could stall your engine. What kind of cold air-intake are you using? If you are worried about getting your intake wet, I would use AEM's bypass valve. Also INJEN makes a metal frame that goes around the cone to protect it from water. Or the best thing to do is to get a short ram intake. That way the intake will not be circulated cold air into your engine, but a little bit of cold and warm.
Otherwise, buying a stock intake will cost you a bit. I'd try ebay before the dealer.

well, i bought the car from a guy in texas. he customly made the intake. it includes 2 fans to suck in the air from outside. its like any normal intake with the filter but with 2 fans in the middle. how does the installation goes for the short ram intake? will it fit my engine? Thanks

Yeah, short ram intakes will fit your car. I have a 98 spyder eclipse which is a 2.4 engine and they don't make intakes for my car. I had to make a custom intake. But for the RS 2.0, AEM and INJEN are probably the best. It's basically a short elbow intake that doesn't extend all the way down into your engine so you are getting a little bit of warm and cold air. I've seen intakes such as the one you are describing to me. I'm not sure if the fan really makes that much of a difference. Check out Streetstyler.com, matrixracing.com, sounddomain.com for intakes. Sometimes you can find stuff cheaper on ebay. I would also call one of these websites to see if a short ram would be ok to use in the cold weather.

i personally kept everything stock, except the snorkle, i cut it off and stuck the cone intake filter on the end and took out the stock air filter, works almost exactly the same, maybe a little better cause it seems like you have a resivoir of air to pull from when you hit the gas.............

cold air intake is longer, it pulls air from down by the ground and a normal intake pulls air from the engine compartment, the air in the engine compartment is a lot warmer, thats why its a cold air intake cause the air by the ground is colder, they also tend to work a little better, give ya 1 or 2 more hp............

The air intake is the short ram intake that I was describing to you. I'd go with that over the cold air in your situation. Also if you drive in really wet areas and don't want your cone filter to get wet, I'd stay away from the cold air intake, just stick with the short ram/air intake. And I believe the short ram will run you around $95-130 depending on the website. Sometimes just typing in AEM or INJEN on yahoo will bring up companies that sell these products at wholesale prices.

Personally, i had the injen intake on my old 97 talon and i didn't feel any difference. I "heard" a difference, but couldn't feel anything. You're probably better off with the stock system since it gives a better level of protection. Look on DSMtrader.com for the stock system, i'm sure someone's trying to sell it.

Also, FatalJRA the Integra GSR Intakes fit the 2g Spyder GS's. Kinda weird, but it works. This was discovered about 2 years ago by members of TGC, so i have to give credit to them.
