This problem started two days ago. I have a 2002 Eclipse Spyder Convertible with 60,000 miles. Sometimes it will start and work fine but other times it will start but will not idle and cut off if I'm not on the gas pedal reving it. It I release the pedal it will cut off. I have looked for fault codes but none come up. Any suggestions out there?

 

I had this same problem with my 2001 Spyder. When I brought it to the mechanic, the first thing they did was check for codes, and like yours, none came up. Then they decided to check the throttle body. They cleaned it of mineral deposits and changed the air filter and the problem has not happened since (this was two months ago). Next step would have been the IAC valve, and that would have run almost $400.
