Hey guys,

I got my 2002 eclipse spyder (112,000 miles) 'service engine soon' light on two times.[&o]

Before two weeks, I got the light on, I went to the autozone checked the code, they guys got the code '301', suggested me to change spark plugs, so, I did it, changed 4 new spark plugs, and the 'service engine soon' is off.

After two weeks, 200 miles, yesterday morning, the 'service engine soon' comes on again. I go to autozone and check the code again. but this time, they read nothing, say 'no error code'... very strange... I am pretty sure I had the gas top tighten and the car seems running good.

Any suggestions and commands should be very appreciated!

double check the gass cover. they as stupid sensitive. I had this issue and needed 6 plugs and wires changed(obviously a GT model I have)

 

Clear the check engine light and see if it comes back on.

but how could I clear the check engine lihgt? can I do it by myself or need go to firestone get the light off?

 

Disconnect the neg cable on the battery for like 5 min and it should reset the light.

I disconnect the battery for several minutes.
The light is off. So, hope it never comes back on...
