Default 2003 Eclipse Performance Chip

Hi all, I have a question about a eclipse / Lancer performance chip that is for sale through places like Ebay. It is supposed to add about 5 - 10 horsepower and I was wondering if anyone here has used such a thing. It appears to be a resister or variable resister that is connected where one of the sensors goes. But I don't know which one. Anyone ever used or heard of such a thing?

Thanks

It only works in certain cars as a trick for temporary purposes. Most of the cases it only works in those cars which have a MAF sensor and most have to be non-boosted at that.
