recently purchased an 03 eclipse GS about a month ago. I noticed that the check engine light has come on and when your stopped and idle the engine will start to spudder when the rpm goes below a half. I had someone look at the car and he said it soulded like a throttle body problem. any insight appreciated.

 

It sure does sound like a throttle body/idle speed control problem. Your 2003 should still be covered under warranty. Take it in to your local dealership and have them take a look at it. Good Luck!

take it to a local autozone and have the SES code scanned to see what the problem is.

 

Yeah get the code scanned that'll give you a start on the problem and an idea of what exactly it is.
