03 Eclipse. Last time I drove the car the blower only worked on high and was very loud. I predicted rodent nest in the fan. Had to store the car in the garage for several years. Just pulled it out this week to address the motor. Pulled the blower motor and as predicted, crammed full of rodent nest and pee. Thorough cleaning and reinstall.
But it won’t come on. (I did not test it until after I had cleaned it.. wish I had at least tried it before). I push the ac button.. no light. Turn fan 1-4 but it’s dead. Now, the recirc light and the defrost light will illuminate when pushed but nothing from the fan. I set it for heat and defrost.. no fan.
Unplugged the wires from the fan to
check w meter… get nothing on any fan position.
I first thought the rodent problem may have burned up the motor. But looks like no voltage is the problem, not the motor. What all would prevent ac light from lighting up and keep fan from blowing simultaneously? Fuses are good.. and I switched out relay under the hood. No difference. I hate to tear into the dash just to check wiring on back of ac switch.. hoping someone here might have a suggestion first.
This doesn’t look right 🫣

As I keep working on this, I am learning about resistor blocks. I'd say this one is toast. I don't have the specs for the pins but the meter shows 0 Ohms on all pin connections I made except for one pair. I have ordered the new part.. be here this weekend. My question now is.. if the resistor block is the culprit, why doesn't the blower still work on High? And would this bad part keep the compressor from coming on? (No indicator light illumination when I push the AC to ON)
