battery drains with car off

I have a 2003 eclipse gt. The battery drains with car off. Can this be an alternator problem even though the car is off? I bought a brand new battery and it did it again.

find the vampire.
Pull fuses and measure the current accros the circuit.

Also check for grounding issues - could be in the alternator/rectifier.

Are you sure the interior light is not on? I seen that happen more than once.
