Correct me if I'm wrong, doen't the '01 GT have a 3Liter V-6? I would have thought it would feel similar to my '97 2Liter turbo. Do they weigh a lot more to make them feel slower. Lower end wasn't too bad but in the higher gears there was not much torque to pull it. I did like the interior better since it was leather and mine is cloth. What are the stated track times for the '01? I have heard the '97 GS-T is 14.9 in the quarter.

the 3.0L is NOT designed for speed it is only 205HP ant they kinda went luxary in the 3Gsncompaired to DSMs and yes they weight a little more but not much

 

the 3gs are slow compaired to your 2g, ask mike, he had a boosted 3g gt and gs.

 

they are comfy as hell though

 

Yes, I agree, the comfort level was up with the '01 vs the '97. And the shifting seemed a tad more solid. I did see a leather interior to a '99 and it was very nice compared to my cloth interior with the similar shape.

 

I forgot about the shifting. Yes the 3G has a much shorter throw distance and it is much more stiff in there. The 2G shifter feels like you can snap it in half or bend it real easily which I always hated.

The leather in the 3G is nice they also added side airbags in some models (my spyder had them) The motor has a shorter redlne compaired to the 2G so it has short feeling gears and the all 3Gs cant breathe well over 5k RPMs they feel like it falls on its face. That seems to be fixed with a cold air intake then the car pulls well all the way up (but still not like a Gst, the 2G turbos seem to feel like it keeps pulling harded the higher the RPM)

 

Though I have to admi the styling of the 3Gs are very nice on the outside. I've seen a lot of them lowered and that makes them look nice and clean. But out of all the years I think the 97'-99's are the best looking. And i'm not just saying this cause I own one.

 

my gsx was very comfy with the leather seats when i had it working. now i got a ripped and torn bench seat in a truck that is as old as im. 18

 

i want a 99 front bumper.lol. Yea my bro has a 2003 gt and im faster, but he is more comfortable
