Default Gas pedal pressure

Hello3G people!

This friend of mine has either an 01 or an 02 Eclipse GS and she asked me if there would be any reason that her gas pedal would be getting more difficult to push? She hadn't drove the car for a day or two, and within the past two days the pedal seems to have more tension than what she has been used to. I haven't drove it myself.

Are there any specific things to check? I know that it is a simple cable, so maybe it needs lubed or something? Anyone have some input? TIA!

Had the same problem.........the throttle body needs to be cleaned, over the years it gets gunked up and after a while starts to "stick," giving you the effect that its harder to push.....atleast thats what solved my problem anyway, hope it helps.
