looking to buy a 2003 spyder GT. help?
I’m looking to buy a 2003 spyder GT. The dealer want 16,000$ (USD) and it has only 21,500 miles on it and still covered by factory warrenty. Do u think that’s a good deal?
Also will parts be readily available to soup it up, and about how much will it cost to get it to over 300hp? Its 210 stock. And will doing so void the extended warrenty I play to buy online?

I meant 16,800 I typed it wrong. It’s a Cadillac dealership. The previous owner traded it in for a caddy and it’s the only used car they have there. They usually don’t sell used cars unless they get one as a trade in. they probably gave the guy like 11K for the trade in so they’re making a steal on it. I took it on 2 test drives and it rides perfect but I’m not a cra expert

That is a good deal I paid $15900 for my 2002 GT spyder with 32,000 miles. As far as Modding it up to 300+ HP you will kinda be in a money pit to do so. THe 03 Spyder has the GTS motor which uses diferent pistons and are very weak compaired to the GT in prior years(these GT's were also weak but not as bad). The pistons are the weakest link. the Rods are good for up to and over 500WHP
The pistons in the GTS motor can only handl 5.6 PSI safley and the GT has been boosted to 8-9PSI. Ok so in order to get 300+hp out of it you will need pistons, you wont get there uless your turbo charge or supercharged. The v6 turbo kit out there is around $4000 it uses a t3\t4 hybred turbo and put down 320ish on a GT untuned at 8.5PSI.
The Ripp MODDS supercharger out for these cars is another good one the stageIII setup comes with new pistons a water\meth injection for cooling and it dynos 420HP at about 21PSI. the price for this is well into the $6000 range then labor if you cant do it your self. All of this will Void your warrenty as well.
If you want to learn more than go to Club3G.com, or Club3GFL.com and contact A.A.I. (he makes the turbo kit) or Tearstone. you will find Tons and tons of info on the club3g.com. Do alot of research before you buy the car. there are many things that arenot designed to the best quality. such as brakes, pistons ect.

Thanks for the info. I won’t touch the engine then cause I don’t wanna void the warranty. So do u think it’s a good deal? And will the car last me 150,000+ miles? Is there any known problems for the car besides the recall for the fuel thing?

only you can make the car last 150k+ do all maintenence and oil change dont push the car all the time and yea there is no reason why not. they are quick but not fast. Mine was nice but it is kinda a girly car for me. So I traded for an EVO.
