Has anybody encountered any sunroof problems? In my case, after I push the button to either tilt the roof or open it fully, nothing happens until I push up against the glass, then it'll slide open by itself. For some odd reason I have to push up against the class, sort of helping it with a head start or something. Anyone have anyideas?

 

Could be a few things... though nothing factory caused, to my knowledge. The motor will only push so hard as to avoid blowing the fuse, when your pushing up on it, its allowing it to move freely. It seems like it may be stuck on something, or the motor is starting to go maybe. But like I said, the sunroof in 3Gs, while problematic, dont usually suffer from that issue.

 

i have the same problem, except mine works 20% of the time...i will let you know if i find anything.

I have a 01 and it has the same problem i cleaned out the rail and its not getting stuck on anything i dunno

 

i have a 2000, mine was doing the same thing i opened it up cleaned the rail and tightened all of the screws and it works just fine now. dont screw them in too tight.

 

is everyones problem is that at first it wont open? like u have to push it up first or is there any other prob?

 

Does it happen all the time? In my case it used to happen when the car was parked in the sun for extended duration. My mech suggested applying a very thin coat of oil to the portion of the roofwhere the rubber beading rests. Worked in my case....

 

mines a 2001, it just needs a push at first but after it opens it slides back and opens and closes just fine. mine sits in the sun alot, i never thought of that

 

my 2000 and my 2003 do the same thing I just tap the glass when it happens
