Hi, I just recently bought a 2003 eclipse GS and suddenly the sunroof will no longer fully open! When opening the sunroof it first shoots up then pulls back to open it; On my car when i push the button to open it, it only goes half way up! It can go half way up then back down to the closed position. If anybody has come across this problem before or resolved it can you help!?

 

Yeah mine does that too. I have to take the button casing (where you have to push it in) off, push the button in, and then give the sun roof a little push up also. This should work. I've looked at what the problem is...and I still havent found a solution.

 

I have an 04 gts and I have the same problem. I took it to a local shop and they said it has to do with the weather stripping used to seal the sunroof. I just take my hand and push up on it a little bit while holding the button down to open it.
