Default Sunroof Skipping

Hi,

I have a 2000 black 2.4 with an electric Sunroof.

Whenever I try openning it, two things happen:

1. It seems to get stuck at the point where it should rise to clear the rear part of the roof. I've read that some oil on the rear rubber part of the roof would probably solve the problem. Would you please confirm?

2. While the roof is sliding back; it keeps jumping/skipping and I have to hold it down so it can slide back smoothly

When I'm closing the roof though, it goes forward very smoothly and slides into place with no problems at all

I've tried apply white Lithuim grease to the rails thinking it's a lubrication problem but the problem still persists

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Yea lol that black goes way too soon even red is in better condition. Most of the sunroofs that mitsubishi makes do that, the only time i have to pop it up is after it has rained or been washed. The only time it seems to mess up is when there is suction from water.

hello. I just recently had my roof replaced and it did the same thing. I thought maybe it was getting caught on my seat a little but i took it back to the person who replaced it and he said they had been having that problem with ecypse sun roofs. The new on i have now it better but still seems to slow down a little and skip once on the way back. Forward very smooth. Its an Eclypse thing I guess..... Silly I know
