when i crank up my car there is a high pitch ticking noise coming from the engine and while im idleing it just ticks constantly anybody have any suggestions i was told it may be a lifter problem its 01 mitsubishi eclipse v6 with 143000 miles

 

mine did the same thing...at a cold idle and around 2500 rpm...try a thicker oil or even a full synthetic and a can of engine restore...i put valvoline next gen 10w30 full synthetic and a can of engine restore in mine and after about 200 miles it worked itself out... pushing 158,000 miles on it
