eclipse 06 sunroof leak
I went to my car this morning, and the inside was all wet! The control button for the sunroof was all wet around it, and dripping all over the car. I have the eclipse 06 gt. I took it to the dealer, and they told me it is a defect on the new eclipse, and that they didn't even know how to fix the problem yet. My motor on my sunroof is ruined, they had to order a new part. And, I'm going to insist that the fabric is replaced, there will for sure be water stains, and an unpleasant smell when it gets hot. Apparently I'm not the first one with this problem. Has anybody else out there encountered this? This just sucks.

RE: eclipse 06 sunroof leak
I have no idea. They basically told me that I'm not the only one that has had this problem, and that Mitsubishi is working on the problem. The mechanic pointed to a blue one on the lot exactly like mine and said that car was having the same exact problem. So, now I have electrical tape over the edges of my sunroof in hopes that it will stop the leak. Even if they gave me a loaner, my car would have just sat on the dealer lot and gotten soaked. At least I can keep it home at night in my garage. Who knows how long it will take to fix the problem, because installing a new motor on my sunroof isn't going to cure the leak. Nice.

I doubt they will offer to change the fabric, but they better because its going to smell nasty in there when it gets hot. All that money for a new car and this happens! It's a great looking car, I just hope they can get this problem under control.

That is because it is the 1st year of 4Gen almost all cars that are of new design are going to have some bugs. It is almost always better to wait until 2nd year or at least the .5
The main thing to do is keep raising hell at the dealership they will fix and replace if done the right way. I have a buddie that got a dealership to paint his new car.
