i have been doing quite a bit of research online, and by phone to several companies about there Cold Air Intake Kits, or CAIK. The Injen brand costs the most out of all of them, but I seriously think they are the best thing going as far as performance, and longevity of the vehicle they are made for.

Injen is the ONLY company I have found that actually dyno tunes there setups to stay fairly close to the factory MAF settings, WITHOUT getting the dreaded check engine light from the CAIK making the fuel run lean. They perform a baseline dyno reading before they start making a kit. The key thing is keeping the air/fuel ratio fairly close to what the stock setting is. This keeps the system safe and prolongs the life of the engine. A motor to lean will soon blow, a motor too rich is just a waste of fuel, but when you keep your a/f ratio close to stock limit, you stay safe.

here is the link for the 4cyl auto

Hope this helps you make a moer informed decision. I am a disabled vet, I have the time and resources to research before I "waste" my money on a product. I have a 2006 Toyota Sequioa that I am about to order an Injen kit for. Here is the dyno chart for the tundra, which uses the same intake setup as mine. http://www.injen.com/galleries/produ...hsallinone.jpg

if you look at the line that says WITHOUT MR TECHNOLOGY, that means they tested another companies CAIK set up to get those numbers. DOWNFALL, they wouldn't tell what brand they used to get that A/F mix. At a 14.2 Air fuel ratio, Injen made more torque, just a minor less hp with an A/F mix of 12.172. I find that impressive

please dont beleive that crap. I once saw Injen claim a 30HP gain from thier intake alone. Dont even waste your time reading the propaganda. mass air flow sensors, oxygen sensors and fuel injectors are continuoisly compensating to run the engine efficiently regardless of any air filter "tuning" based on the mass of air present and the feedback from the 02 saying add more fuel or cut it back.

oh, the reason im here is i was lloking for a intake kit as well, not for overblown performance claims, but to clean up the engine bay and lose the huge plastic box, scoop and resonator.

it apperas the injen is the only one available period? is that correct?
