Hey all, new to the forums and mitsu cars. Anyway I just got a 01 eclipse 4 cyl for a daily driver after having the cobra die again. I really enjoy the car and it's been great except for a minor misfiring/ sputtering problem.

Whenever i shift and the rpm's drop below 2 grand and i give the car more than approx 15% throttle the car bucks/ missfires a little bit. It seems to be fine when rpm's are higher that 2000-2500 rpm.

I did a google search and a thread about a prelude with the same problem popped up. Obviously it said to check plugs, plug wires, etc. But also named issues with valves, sensors and stuff. I have not had a chance to check the basics yet. It juststarted happening consistantlyyesterday and it has been raining outside.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

 

How many miles do u have and is the cel on?

It's got 98900 miles. I just bought it with 98000 from a honda dealership. It was fine on the test drive.

Also no codes are being throw, or lights.

 

How long ago did you buy it from the Honda dealer? If it was more recent take it back and have them fix it.

 

I actually went there today and I am bringing it back in an hour to have it checked on and fixed (at theirexpense).

I was just curious to see what was up just in case they couldnt do anything about it since the car didnt have a warrenty.
