Been riding smooth the last couple days, but today when I went to start it the engine made a loud knocking sound and shut itself off. Tried twice after that with the same result but I dont wanna mess with it too much before I know whats wrong with it. I first noticed it was a little shaky in idle yesterday but other than that no problems to speak of. Pleeeeease help

if it shut it'self off (i assume it's got lots of electric things in) - bearings. big end or gudgeon.

otherwise i'd have said hydraulic tappets, failing oil pump, and timing is off.
