3000gt timing question

I just timed my 96 3000gt sl and for some reason the valves and piston hit. All of the timing marks are lined up, maybe half a tooth off on one of them. My question is, is there a possible head problem if the valves and piston meet when properly timed?

Yes, I bought it off of someone who was driving it prior to me buying it. The timing belt jumped and bent all the intake valves on both heads, so I bought a used pair of heads online from a guy that said the heads were from a 1995 3000gt/stealth. The heads are in good condition, valves are not bent at all. I just re-timed the motor again and the valves are hitting the pistons still. What would cause the valves to hit the pistons if the timing marks are all perfect?

Can you post pics of the timing marks and the only thing i can think ofthat would cause that would be bent valves or something broke in the bottom end.
Are you sure its making contact b/c when you crank an engine by hand it'll get hard in some spots b/c of the compression stoke (if that makes any sense to you).

Are you assuming the valves and pistons are hitting because of a loud click? It may just be your lifters ticking- some of which can completely collapse causing a very loud upperend tapping noise.
