Intermentint problem sometimes starts and runs fine, sometime will not idle on cold start. Mostly does it when at running temp. Wants to die alot while shifting and sitting a red lights. No power loss, no check engine light. Always worked on by dealership. Has anyone had this problem and if so please help. Thanks.

Default Voltage Drops When My 3000gt Heats Up

I didnt have any problems untill i changed the battery, now when my car heats up, and when i press on the breaks the battery voltage drops. This also happens at idle speed though its not offten. The car stalls when i back up, though only when the car is warmed up. I had my alternator tested and thats good, i replaced the starter as well as changed the battery terminals. The car runs great when its cold, I need help for i am unable to keep changeing out parts. I have an after market sterio system, and alarm installed and when i turn up the volume on my stero it shuts off the stero that is. Any ideas as to whats cauesing this to happen?

Who installed the battery? It sounds like someone killed the alternator voltage regulator by attaching the battery terminals backwards.

I responded to your PM by the way.

Off the top of my head, Im not sure if the alt has a fuse. Check your underhood fuse block. The larger square, clear plastic topped fused links. One of them may be blown. On the idle problem, you probably have a bad ISC (idle speed control) motor. First try cleaning the throttle body. Pull the air hose off where it attaches to the engine, Hold the throttle wide open, engine not running, Spray a little carb cleaner on the round disc then spray a bunch of carb cleaner on a rag and clean the disc and the bore all the way around where the disc touches.
