4wd Service Required when in 4wd
Hey guys. I have a 2013 Lancer SE with 130,000 miles. I live in the Northeast and during this past snowstorm while I was driving in 4wd, the 4wd service required light started flashing on the dash and the car slowed down and wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. I could only go at max 15 mph with the rpms revving out of control like limp mode. I pulled over and took it out of 4wd and turned the car off. When I turned the car back on the light 4wd service required had turned off and I drove the rest of the way in 2wd. Fast forward to 2 weeks later of not needing to use it ( no lights on this whole time) but now if I go to switch it into 4wd auto or 4wd after a couple of minutes the light will come on and the car goes into that limp mode again.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to go about this? I saw some other people had it flashing constantly after putting on new tires or mods etc but that isnt my case. I read some evo forums about it being the pump and 3000 to fix it. Didnt know if the Lancer ES has this same pump and if anybody else has had this problem (praying it's not this pump)
Thanks everyone!
