Default 98 Dimante ES Stalling question, Need Help FAST!

Ok, First I hate that my first post is a question and not help for someone else.

Second, here is the problem. My wife's car is a 98 Mitsu Diamante ES it has almost 100K on it.
We were out of town last week and left it sitting in the garage and there was something that was left on head lights maybe and drained the Battery. I had the battery checked and charged but after that happened the car would not idle properly. It runs just fine above 800 - 1k rpm. But if my foot isn't on the gas and brake at the car will die once the motor gets up to operating temp.

My father in law suggested the fuel filter may be clogged...
I'm thinking that the IAC Valve may be clogged.

But I read that the onboard computer may be trying to reset itself due to the battery being killed. I have drivven the car for 2 days with 2 feet and the PC hasnt reset itself?

Try disconnecting the battery completely, then reconnect. Sometimes the system may malfunction on a low battery, or one that has completely drained while in the car. Does your model have the radio anti-theft system? If so, did you have to enter a code to get the radio back on? Try the battery thing, and let me know.

the ecu will only reset after to remove the positive from the battery. Do that for about 10 min. Then drive the car around the block and see if by that time it has fixed itself. You said it wasnt doing this until the battery was changed right? Or did you say you didnt change the battery and only recharged it? You may just need a new battery, how old is the one in there?

when the battery went dead you lost your adaptive idle memory.

you need to clean your throttle body.

Ok so in the interm I have turned the idle up and so far no more stalling I will take some carb cleaner to the throttle body. and see if that helps.

Next issue: Now the "SRS" light is on I have tried to clear that but by removing the batt terminals but to no avail.

the SRS light will need to be professionally diagnosed. It wont turn off just by unhooking the battery.

Having the same problem with a '89 Galant. Have to drive with 2 feet with an auto trans. Tried the battery disconect to reset the ECU, no help. Have you tried to clean the TB? Any help? I was told by a mechanic it could be the MAF. At $500 for a new one, thats an expensive guess. This only happens when the engine is warmed up good. It started off about a year ago only doing it once in a while and usually when it was warm out. Was never a problem all winter, but now that summer is here in CA and the weather is warm, it happens all the time. Temp sensor? I'll keep any results posted. I hate it when these posts die without resolution. Thanks for any help.

I am out of town on Business, that is why I needed the help to make sure her car was drivable while I was gone. So far I have only turned the idle screw up.

If you plan to turn the ilde pin up, it is located (well at least on her car) on the back side of the TB just infront of the firewall. I was not using my head when I tried to turn it up and I was trying to turn it up with the locknut still on place. My advice and the point of this is to tell you to remove the WHOLE pin and lock nut. It makes it very easy to be able to turn the idle up. I ended up turning the nut about 10 full turns. 8mm wrench fit the nut and I held the screw in my hand with a phillips screw driver I hope that helps you out some.

I hope to spend some time under the hood of her car this weekend with some carb cleaner and try and clean the TB up some.

Anything in particular I need to clean?
