Default Ac noise

I replaced my expansion valve, ac compressor and drier in my 2002 mitsubishi montero sport ls.

I have an intermittent issue...please help!

When the ac is on, there is a sound that occurs randomly...it sounds like a whale singing.

It sounds like it is coming from directly behind the ac switch inside the car. It is getting really annoying.

Probably the bearings in the compressor.

Sound is inside the car...not under the hood. Could the bearing sound travel through the ac lines to the passenger compartment and not be audible under the hood?

No it would definitely be audible pretty much anywhere in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle.

Take it to an HVAC specialist.
