I don't know if anyone can help me but I'll give it a shot. Bought a 07 Gallant ES with the Sport Package in May. Of course the Sport Package includes the 360W Rockford Acoustic Design audio system.

When the car was delivered the audio system had an issue (very low output). Took it back to the dealer and was informed that there was no amp in the car. Dealer told me they had to order. Waited three weeks, still no amp. Finally, after a couple of stern phone calls, they said my amp would be in on Monday. Dealer picked the car up and installed the amp. The audio system was apparently fixed, until I noticed I did not get any audio until I had the volume turned up to at least 20 or 25. When I max out the volume at 45, the audio is loud, but not what you would expect from a 360W amp.

I am wondering if the dealer put a standard audio amp in just to shut me up. I've looked online for the model number of the amp that is SUPPOSED to be in there. I've got the model number of the amp they installed. Its 8701A107. Looked that up on a couple of parts sites and it looks like a regular amp and not the 360W amp.

Anybody out there have any suggestions on how I can determine exactly what I am supposed to have? The audio system in the Galant stinks compared to what I had in my Endeavor. I just smell a rat, especially since the car did not have an amp in it when I bought it.
