Left interior light on over 10 day period.Battery completely flat. Disconnected & recharged. Starts fine and idles well for a time but then engine dies after it has run for a while. Any help.

 

u need a new battery, most likely you killed a cell and thats the end of that one

 

Dont think so, fear it may be ECU based. Any handy way to test.

its not ecu based. Charge the battery again, measure the voltage, is it around 13 volts? If not you need a new battery. if its 13 volts, see if it dies again. when it dies, measure the voltage again. if your battery is dead again it may be the alternator.

Anyway battery works fine starts great.
Engine fast idle's at about 1100 until it heats up then cuts out if iam driving in traffic if i down shift.
Have been told the ECU reset's itself after you remove the neg on the battery.
Have run up 230 miles since recharge.

yes it resets itself but that doesnt cause any problems
