Brake Fluid Rating

Default Brake Fluid Rating

I need to change the brake fluid on my mom's Acura, and the manual recommends Genuine Honda Brake fluid, but it says either DOT3 OR 4? and that 5 is incompatible and it wont work. Whats the difference between the ratings?

i had a 2002 honda civic and i use dot3. use the dot3 or 4 u can find it at any auto store.

they have higher boiling points.
