Hi everyone. I have a problem with the brakes on my 02 Montero. The ABS light is on. there is an alarm sounding in the cabin. The pedal is a hard as a rock and there is almost no brakes. From what I gather there is a recall on the accumilator, but I think this is a different problem. I have checked all the fuses and relays and didn't find any problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

 

I am pretty sure its the acumilator. If the recall has been done there will be a purple dot on the top of the accumilator. It is mounted to the inside of the m/cyl has a large nut built onto the top. I have seen a few failed that had the recall some yrs ago.
