Default Cooking your headlights???

Has anyone here done this before where you cook your headlights to get the lens off?? If so I was wondering if you could tell me how long you put them in for, what temp, all that good stuff. Main reason I ask is cause I am going to go ahead and whilethe lens isoff of them paint the inside black to make my own black housed headlights. I know it'd beeasier to just spend and buy some but hell, if I am gonna buy some new ones anyways why not atleast try this first and see how it turns out haha. PlusI would have to do this anyways cause the inside of the lens's need to be cleaned and wet sanded. So butthanks for any help in advance guys.
